View Full Version : 4 host providers considered - AddAction, *********, c0ldhost, matrix-studio
Dogga 02-01-2003, 05:31 PM After looking at about 20 different hosts and comparing features, I've cut my list down to the 4 hosts above:
- *********
- AddAction.net
- matrix-studio.com
- c0ldhost.com
The 2 that are less risky to me are ********* and AddAction, with ********* being the one I like the most. I've read some comments on AddAction before, so I'm posting this to really get more comments on the other 3 providers. Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks. :)
EDIT: Well, H*stma**x is the one I was talking about. Heh.
WPT Kyle 02-01-2003, 06:04 PM Well since the name is banned, it can't be that great of a company
I can't really comment on addaction.net and coldhost.com as I have had no experiences with them.
However, I was considering matrix-studio.com for a while because their prices seemed quite decent but after emailing some questions to them about their services they refused to answer any of the emails.
I then checked out h o s t m a t i x and all I can say is that for the short-time I have been with them they are a fantastic host. They answer questions within the hour and they are always helpful and professional. Their prices are good and I can recommend them 100%.
Cheers - DAV:eek:

Can anyone explain why H*stm*tix is banned?
....they apparantly tried to displays their services on WHT under various names. Thus they got banned.
Might be true - or it could also have been just customers trying to sell their services as recommendations!!!
Cheers - DAV.
Dogga 02-01-2003, 06:44 PM ... so they could very well be a good host? That's a comforting thought. :)
If anyone else has any opinions, I'd appreciate it. Otherwise, I'll go with H*stm*t*x, and if I'm not happy with the service, there's always the 30-day money back guarantee.
esystal 02-01-2003, 06:47 PM Dear Dogga:
Good afternoon Dogga!
I am just wondering, is hostmatrix's main site under construction at the moment?
Dogga 02-01-2003, 07:02 PM It's actually spelled without an "r". Try typing it without the r, and you should get to the site. :D
esystal 02-01-2003, 07:39 PM Dear Dogga:
Thanks Dogga, lol, overlooked it.
Artashes 02-01-2003, 09:00 PM Dogga, I would join Dav - host matix is a great hosting company. I've been with them for about 6 months now and I host a few sites with them. Simply fantastic! My previous hosts (except for one) don't come close to the level of service I get at HM!
Best,
Meow Meow 02-01-2003, 10:23 PM Matrix Studio is okay if you don't need quick customor support and have a very small site. Matrix Studio moved my site to a semi-dedicated for $99 a month because they said my site kept crashing the server. They disabled my account one day, but didn't bother letting me know until a couple hours before they did it. Though, now that I'm on the semi-dedicated, I haven't had any problems and it's pretty good. It's best to talk to the guy on AIM though, lots more helpful and he's extremely polite.
WPT Kyle 02-01-2003, 10:26 PM I think they know for a fact hostma*tix was making other names and recommending their business because the mods can see the ip and easily match it:)

Best,
Then how come it isn't #1 on that host list of yours? (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=79172)
:D
I take it Verio was the only host that beat host matix? The greatest host on the face of the planet?

Which one would you and ConcreteHost recommend for around $15/mth, then? I can post the specifics I need if that would help you guys.
Thanks again. Lots of feedback. :)
esx2shank 02-07-2003, 08:08 PM Two thumbs up here for Add Action. Started with them 2 months ago, and have to say that Anton is VERY responsive with any questions or concerns.
