I always wondered, who is the owner of CPanel! I mean if we want to resell CPanel, who should we contect?:D

You need to contact a distributor, you cannot buy directly from the programmer unless you are buying ALOT of licenses from the start. At that point, you would still have to be approved before before being given a distributorship.

The cpanel files have the name of Jon Koston on them.

Nick works at Burst and Matt from Site5.com is another cpanel programmer. I think there's one more programmer but I can't remember his name.

If your interested in the Cpanel contact VDI, as we will answer you promptly. We are in the process of adding some features and other needed items.

Currently we have a new development team starting to put all the pieces back together. If there any questions or comments direct them to our sales.

We have also built a very nice support desk for the Cpanel users. The New support desk should be out next week. So professional companies have true 24 / 7 support for thier administrators. VDI also will release the New manual for instalation and managing the Cpanel / webhost manger.

The original creator of CPanel is J.Nick Koston.
This was done under the name of DarkOrb Communications.
Nick is currently the Sr. System Administrator here at BurstNET.

Can you provide any details or a date? There are much rumors out about NocSoft, could you clarify this a bit?

Estimated release date is Early August 2001 for NocSoft.
This is all new code...nothing leftover from Cpanel 3.

New features will include (just to name a few):

Credit Card Processing
Cluster Management
Integrated Support Ticket System

about the automated billing is that just going to be for the US host or are you going to include revecom and worldpay aswell, so non US host can use the automated billing also.

I have seen a few companies writting automated billing scripts and none of them offer those options I am sure it will be welcome from quite a few of us :)

BurstNET will have exclusive rights to license NocSoft for the initial release (undetermined time frame still). BurstNET will be marketing this internally in our data center, and externally as well. Pricing will be at the same levels we currently offer Cpanel3, or less....not sure yet....but definately not higher. All DarkOrb Cpanel3 clients will be upgraded free of charge to NocSoft...and this may actually be required..as DarkOrb CPanel3 will be discontinued eventually.

Currently CPanel3 runs on:
Red Hat 6.2
Red Hat 7.1 (or 7.0...but why use it...)
Mandrake Linux 7.2 (possibly 8.0 as well, but not tested yet)

NocSoft will run on all the above.
Plans are also in the works to support other major OS's including:
Deviant Linux (4th Quarter 2001)
FreeBSD (4th Quarter 2001)
Turbo Linux (4th Quarter 2001)
Windows 2000 (Late 2001)
Windows NT4 (Late 2001)

We will mention this to the developers.
We like the idea as well, and foreign markets are a definate target marketing base for NocSoft.

We are going to start a thread in a couple weeks as to what other features people would like to include in NocSoft.

I think there will be many Questions/Suggestion from foreign Providers (= also My) like Multi-Language (Spain, German, French, Italian, ...) for NocSoft [[I'm interested to Translate it German]].
