View Full Version : 22GB/day Dedicated Server - UnitedColo??

Hi, I have a website currently that is taking about 30GB/day. I am looking for reasonably cheap dedicated hosting (with Debian if possible ;0), with full root access. Anyone have suggestions?

What about UnitedColo? Anyone have experience with them? Are they any good. Their prices seem too good to be true - they're offering 3TB/month with a Debian based dedicated server and full root for only 200/month.

I have not personally used them myself, but if you are looking for budget dedicated machines with that amount of bandwidth UC may be the place for you. There are tons of threads on them, just use the Search tool.

depends on the type of site u run... what u run? anything controversial? if even remotely, no unitedcolo is not a good choice... if not controversial, then go for it... cuz unitedcolo would terminate a box if a 15 yr old wrote a bullsh*t complaint and sent it into them... they are just like that, nothing u can do about it... if u try and challenge the allegations, they will simply hang up... either way, u do not get your data, you do not get service...

since you get that much traffic, i'm assuming uptime is a priority...

Do a search for "unitedcolo down"

not true

with such traffic, there are instances when uptime is pretty irrelavent... like when running a website that has heavy downloads... i'd say put the website where b/w is expensive, but quality... and put the downloads on somewhere like unitedcolo... so if its down, visitors would get annoyed, but not mad... beats having an entire site thats down

heh

for 30gb a day, i suggest rackshacks 10mbps unmetered servers. you are better off with rackshack, than UnitedColo.

Do a search on Unitedcolo. RackShack is a reputable company. They are huge. Rackshack is way better than UC. They aren't going to just cut you off like UC does.

Oh, and before somebody jumps on my back, I have servers at both RS and UC.

actually... i hate to say it, but for this application... i think fdcservers would be the best bet... we all on the forums know how much I hate them, but in this application: they are the cheapest option with the best price/performance ratio... :)
