it is now 3 weeks that burst has change here NOC. (we are going with ultraspeedusa befor...)
and since 3 weeks our opensrs client installed on our website is down.
Since burts has change the IP address of our Account i send 4 e-mail's to opensrs to update here DB with this new IP. But our client is still not working.
I e-mailed burts's support but they say it is opensrs fault if here client does not work... so i e-mailed again to opensrs and they confirmed update of DB and say it is burst's fault if the client not work because they have a firewall/proxy server that block access....
So we have not access to fix things (no root access of course) ....
Of course we loose a lot of domain registration in this 3 weeks...

That was my expirience....

I've faced similar problems before when a hosting service changes Bandwidth Providers.

I suggest having Burst double check with their up-stream provider on if there could be a firewall / misconfigured router somewhere on their network.

Next, I would update to the latest Client Code availible on the OpenSRS website. That sometimes fixes problems conserning the port issue.
