Hey guys, I found a host that's called RSMHost and my friends a little reluctant to use them because they've only been in business for 3 months. The owner gave me reselling for a pretty good deal which includes 10 gigs space and 55 gigs bandwidth. He doesn't have reselling available on his site yet but I've used it so far and it seems pretty good, servers had a few slowdowns here and there but other than that does anyone have experience with this host bad or good? I want to make sure I'm making a good choice.

Hello PILMAN,

The fact that they are new is not a bad thing and at most times should be seen as a positive because there customers base will not be as large as a host that has been around for a few years already. So your support will be better :)

Just my 2 cents on this

So hosts who have been around for a few years in general will have worse support than a new host/reseller with little history to prove otherwise? I'm confused.

heh.

I think he's refering more to the 'hunger' a new webhost will have to satisfy their customers - whe they have none they can afford to lose.

I don't think that hosts will develop poor support as they grow unless they're not thinking ahead.

Of course a new host has a greater chance of disapperaring too, without longer track record to prove they plan on sticking around.

Bumping the thread won't help.
1) RSM isn't very old.
2) A lot of people either work for, or are hosts, so how could they have used RSM?
3) I guess if they were truly rotten, some disgruntled customer may have stumbled on WHT to complain by now, but don't count on it.
4) It's possible they don't have any customers besides yourself.
5) Like Choppy said, if they are new, they are probably hungry, and more likely to treat you better.
6) We don't mind if we let you be the guenia pig. You can let us know if you like them.

well I just wanted to know if anyone else used them, so far yes they are good, I mean 10 gigs space 55 gigs bandwidth for 35 a month is pretty nice. I just got to know the guy and he gave me a good deal and he said I could pay 2 weeks from now since I didn't have money on card which I definitely will pay him since service has been good so far, that's just my experience, but again grass is not always greener on the other side. I learned that the hard way with technohosts, it was too good to be true. Just if anyone uses them let me know, and the owner says he has many clients.

how are you finding the company so far?

I have purchased a dedicated server from these guys and have had nothing but excuses and more excuses. We were told the server would be setup in 2 days, well we are now going on a week. The first excuse was that they needed to pick up some video cards. Next it was that they needed to pick up the drives. And now the excuse is that the "tech" is on vacation.

When I first spoke to this guy, he assured me the server was ALREADY fully setup and ready. I feel like Im getting the run around with this company.

He GUARANTEED us that it would be setup today (which of course it isnt) and have yet to get a reply from them.

So take this comment as you will. I certainly am contemplating my error in judgement here.

Well so far their reseller account has been very useful and he constantly upgrades it, a few downtimes here and there, most of the time 99.29 percent uptime for the week, he talks to me a lot, and my customers seem to thinkthe servers fast. I dunno haven't had problems with him except I've asked him several times so I can add IP's to my customers on my own and he adds it instead, thats the only real complaint, other than that I think his reseller was the best I could find and the best I've used so far.
