I am looking for a Web Host I can trust - someone with ethics and morals… a host who’s not afraid to stand up for what is right.
I own several domain names. The issues I am having are regarding another person who had tried to (and was unfortunately successful because my web host got scared and ‘caved’ ) hijack my domains and domain names, put her name on them in place of mine, redirected my websites to hers, and changed my nameservers to hers. Although I did manage to clear them back up, I don't want to have to worry about it happening again. This person has fraudulently gained a trademark logo (case is pending via civil court :argue: ) and has used this to have my webhost make me take down my logo for our Motorcycle Club I belong to. The web host did not even bother to ask me what was going on, he just handed her my account username and password. For all he knew, the papers she emailed to him could have been forged. Regardless, it is for the court to decide, and not have the web host to impose an injunction himself :uhh:, and he should not have done this without a court order or judgment. For further info, see this thread: Domain Names Hijacked! (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showt...+names+hijacked)
If you are a Host who isn’t afraid to take this on, please let me know. My website is under 30MB, is basic and simple, and I am currently with a host that provides the following basics at $50 per year, and would seek to keep the accounts comparable:
100 MB diskspace
Web Based Control Panel (Cpanel)
Unlimited Auto Responders
Unlimited Email Aliases
Unlimited Email Forwards
Unlimited FTP Accounts
FrontPage Extensions
Shopping Cart Software
SSL (Secure Server https://)
SSI Server Side Includes
Real Time Stats
Password Protected Directories
Real Audio/Video
Web Based Control Panel
Unlimited Mailing Lists
SSH / Telnet
Web Mail Access
CGI-BIN and Pre-Installed CGI Scripts
Perl 5.6.0
24/7/365 Exclusive Tech Support
Thanks for any help you can offer,
Inky
(sorry, guess I need to move this to the Web Hosting Request Forum <B>Web Hosting Requests</B> (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=32) )
