I've just started playing around with Cerberus helpdesk. Looks good so far. It really depends on what your budget is, how many departments you need etc.

Cerberus I looked into is good. It has better features than RT (Response Ticket) which stands out. However, RT is free, but in Perl. A tad hard to install as well.

I also came across NovaResponse (http://www.novasitetech.com/Products/NovaResponse/Default.aspx) this evening. It's a windows application, but ties into a POP3 account either on *NIX or Windows server in order to get it's tickets. Probably the most easiet to install if all it needs is a POP3 account.

The screenshots looks pretty impressive too. I'm away from my office machine, otherwise I'd give it whirl tonight.

ticketsmith is similar to RT (less features), free, and it is written in php

I've been using Kayako eSupport for just over a month now and I LOVE it. It is by far the best software purchase I have made for my business. It has made taking care of support issues much easier for me. On top of that, the support your receive from Kayako is outstanding. Varun always responds quickly and is more than helpful. I recommend this software to EVERYONE.

From what I hear the WHM/cPanel 6 supposed to have a support ticket system. I will be installing and testing out the version 6 beta on a test server this weekend to see what the new features will be.

http://helpdesk.oneorzero.com/?thing=features

Installed the one from OneOrZero... seems to work great both admin and client side. Is PHP oriented and free...

The one or zero helpdesk software is nice at first but don't venture into opening the files and reading the code or trying to make any changes. Its a cob web of code that has not been well commented and is poorly organized. Hey, you get what you pay for right?

I would really like to implement RT2 to replace my current program, but I have tried to install it 2 different times and it is too complicated. Not enough solid documentation on it either.

If you have the funds, www.deskpro.com is great, I just bought my copy last week, and I love the software :-)

For a small staffed hosting site, check this one. Is under test, but will be out soon.
