Hi,

I want to add a chat room to my site, the only problem I have is that I host with hostrocket who don't allow java applets.

I would like chat room to have my own design and it should really allow a number of moderators to run it.

Can someone give me some advise on what my best options are - I'd particularly like to here from any hostrocket sites that have sorted out a decent chat room.

Cheers in advance.

change your host to somebody that does allow what you want!

If you have MySQL and PHP, why not try phpMyChat? I really like it and have it on my Pug site. All of my users from my VBulletin board there LOVE it!

Or, you could go with Digi-Chat, but I hear that is expensive!

How much bandwidth does something like phpMyChat use up btw?

Cheers - whats the url of your 'pug site' F5 - I wouldn't mind a look.

I'd alos be interested to know how much bandwidth it eats.

Cheers

its kinda small on the bandwidth (not sure exactly how much)...and you can dump the posts when the chat is over to keep the file size down or you can just wait for the system to dump it for you after like 4 days.

The URL is www.pugzoners.com

you can see my vbulletin board and chat on there
