Just curious of how many other people create their own desktops. Here's one I did real fast this morning, just took a html file with links to my e-mail and site and looped icons I often use around it.
How does it look?

you can make the home page ( with favourite links, icons, email, photo of gf/bf or your pet dog or whatever etc etc) to open on the desktop
i got nearly a hundred various icons on my desk top: browsers, graphics programs, this and that categorised into 15 folders......i use Belarc Advisor to list and keep track of the different programs i got.

I like the ones that people make
http://pixtudio.com makes great skins for Object Desktop and many others. Check them out and download Object Desktop for a try. Its only 50 dollars and it well worth it.

My desktop wallpaper is usually a photograph that I've taken. My current one is http://photography.shaunewing.com/details.php?image_id=11

Very nice indeed :)

My desktop wallpaper is usually a photograph that I've taken. Ditto. And as a matter of fact, my current desktop has an image of "Ditto" (one of our hatchling turtles) on it ;)
My current desktop makes me feel "One with the aquarium" :D

I have been known to make my own desktops with Bryce and Poser, but at the moment I'm using part of a picture I found on the net:
