Does anyone know if Rackshack allows people to use pics of their datacenter from the RS website on hosting company websites?

Curtis H. 01-28-2003, 01:22 PM Have you asked them that question? Coach 01-28-2003, 01:33 PM All that would do is mislead your customers into thinking you have 10,000 boxes in your facility. I've seen countless hosting companies that do it regardless of that though. Even if they did allow it, I wouldn't do it. tazd9t9 01-28-2003, 01:35 PM Originally posted by Coach All that would do is mislead your customers into thinking you have 10,000 boxes in your facility. It depends where you put the image, if you put it on a page saying that the servers are housed in a datacentre wherever and then put the pic i dont think that would mislead. I wouldn't think they owned the whole datacentre anyway, unless it said they did. Coach 01-28-2003, 01:43 PM Perhaps to you and I as seasoned vets wouldn't think that, but there are always a lot of new people to the web that would assume otherwise. Besides, most of the people that use those pics have wording like "our datacenter". Martie 01-28-2003, 01:55 PM Be safe and drop them an email or ask in their own forums. I dont think they would have a problem if you linked to their network page, etc. if you are using RS servers.;) UH-Matt 01-28-2003, 02:58 PM We use some shots from there webcams and state that we use ev1 network and servers. Dont see the harm - we give them a LOT of business, seems fair that we can use a few piccy's from a webcam. Coach 01-28-2003, 03:59 PM Matt's way of doing it is a model of the way it should be done. Of course then again, I'm of the opinion that the way he runs UH is a pretty good model as well and why I've referred a few people his way. :) UH-Matt 01-28-2003, 04:06 PM thanks :agree: (p.s. its not just me - its a team effort) :) |
