XTNet 01-28-2003, 10:20 AM My server at atwebhost.com has been down for 3 days now... I have attempted to call them, email them, and even use their support forum.... YET STILL NO REPLY.
What a horrible company! NO SUPPORT

An interesting read for you there. :)
Reptilian Feline 01-28-2003, 10:36 AM What is your website? Have you done a trace?
Good link Coach! Should be helpful.
XTNet 01-28-2003, 10:41 AM i have a dedicated server with them, its been down for 3 days. That article doesnt explain why my server is down or why no-one has attempted to contact me...
cedwards 01-28-2003, 10:42 AM My atwebhost server seems to work fine. Also call 1 888 806 0889 and press ext 3. I seem to always get through to a tech guy when i call that number. Try calling it in the evening and you will most definitly get through. When you call you go directly to the data center and they coudl see whats wrong instantly.
XTNet 01-28-2003, 10:46 AM i have been calling that number, yet still no reply. I've left a message, and still no reply. You dont think 36 hours of downtime without a response from your webhosting company is unprofessional?
Angel78 01-28-2003, 10:46 AM I would have left after 1 day of downtime

under normal circumstances yes, i would have too... But i've been paying $350/mo for this thing, and it would be near-impossible to move everything to a new server, and plus, i get to keep the server after a years time.
Im pissed to sa ythe least.
Angel78 01-28-2003, 10:50 AM sorry to hear that, but if you search dedicated forum you may see that they are havin some major issues (new owners, pricing ..etc) so changing may be a good solution ( or not, it is your business after all :))
cedwards 01-28-2003, 11:23 AM welll truefully i dont know....try contacting on AIM atwebjames and talk to him about it. Thats odd not to get a hold of them 36 hours. THe longest i ever watied was 1 hour to get a hold of them.

Hey guys,
You won't belive, they have just changed price for CPanel which now costs $30 per month instead of yesterday's $25.
Tomorrow they will change something else you can be sure of that!
They should call themselfs FPCH "fast price changers hosts", that title is much much better.
cedwards 01-28-2003, 03:18 PM OH MY GOSH GUYS!!! YOU WONT BELIEVE THIS... PUBLIX HAS RAISED THE PRICE OF MILK BY 10 CENTS!!! WOW!
my goodness...companies sometimes have to raise the prices to make money. Runnign a dedicated server company is hard. You have to pay staff and stuff...need to make profits....sorry for being so sarcastic but its just bothering me how everyone is picking on them...if you dont like the prices..find another host!

Maybe...(not saying this is the case but maybe) the same thing that happened to me is happening to you. For your sake I hope not, because this will take hours for me to repair...:(

Nope I DON'T understand when some company is changing EVERY day they offer!!
This is NOT normal.
Say what you want but those are the FACTS!!
And people don't like when someone is having so many changes every day. Who can blame them.
addvalue 01-28-2003, 06:43 PM Is cedwards previously from atwebhost?

Yes he was. I used to work there but left. Dont think im supporting them for that reason. The truth is I never got a dime afterworking there. Personally if i have one problem with them ill jump up and leave. If this was any other company i would be standing by them. i understand what its like to gain new owners....i used to work as Asst Manager at a local ice cream store. We got a new owners and prices changed daily. It was annoying because i had to reprogram the register daily and i had to customers why this happens. Things happen like this guys.....if you dont want to buy from them dont buy from them....basically they will not change the price once you buy from them. You buy at this rate it stays that rate.believe me im not standing up because i used to be on staff there. Weather they do good business or bad business i dont benifit in any way. I wish i did though lol they seem to be doing pretty good lol but i dont get a single cent. Not even a discount on my account with them.

You can bet they will.
You're not helping them by posting, hell no atwebhost/hostcharge has ever been able to help their company by posting.
Its their montra, post and lose customers.
cedwards 01-29-2003, 12:15 AM lol okay
addvalue 01-29-2003, 02:25 AM Ha....Chris email with atweb is still inside my address book...we signup with him and he is the first person I contact with in atweb. But after signing up, he was no longer in charge of sales and running accounts side if I clearly remember. But no long after, he left and we left too... very bad downtime experience with their semi-dedi plan.;)
cedwards 01-29-2003, 09:57 AM hehe im glad to know when i was there support was good lol.
XTNet 01-29-2003, 10:32 AM Atwebhost took care of the problem and got me back online... PROBLEM RESOLVED :) :stickout:
Thank You AtWebHost!
WPT Kyle 01-29-2003, 06:54 PM I wouldnt be thanking them, they should be constantly apologizing and kissing your feet for not losing your business
irq13 01-29-2003, 09:28 PM They seem to be down again.
My server didnt ping at all starting at 8pmEST. I went to atwebhost.com and it didnt come up.
About 15 minutes later I was getting 75% packet loss but still (barely) displaying pages.
Whats up now? 100% packet loss. DOWN.
Will I call support?
Will it make any difference?

Took care of what problem? It's down.
WorldNet 01-29-2003, 09:39 PM I am down too. This is getting to be a weekly occurance with these guys.
irq13 01-29-2003, 09:40 PM Just spoke with support and they said its another internet wide attack and that all hosts should probably be down.
nocster comes up and dedicated now comes up.
news.google.com nor slashdot have anything of another 'attack'.
The traceroute shows that the trail dies inside of miami.
(sigh)
Op3rator 01-29-2003, 09:41 PM Time = Money
:(
irq13 01-29-2003, 09:51 PM Just as an FYI, I received an IM from a client at exactly 8pmEst to inform me of it being down.
So far its been down 51 minutes.
drhonk 01-29-2003, 09:54 PM This is funny ..
now route to all of their IPs are dead from me. :D :D :D

Earlier was 83% packet loss at their datacenter .. now totally gone from any kinda route. I tried from different servers with different provider and still same result. :D :D :D
WPT Kyle 01-29-2003, 10:02 PM This is really disappointing, they seem to not be doing soemthing right, we never went down so I don't know how they could claim most hosts should be down when major NOC's weren't down
irq13 01-29-2003, 10:06 PM Has anyone else called support to see what the story is now that no one is buying the 'internet wide attack'? :)
drhonk 01-29-2003, 10:10 PM seems that they're up and running.

WorldNet 01-29-2003, 10:11 PM it's back up...
about 1hour 10 minutes of down time...
irq13 01-29-2003, 10:12 PM An hour an 8 by my count. But I'm kinda anal. :)
Any one talked to support or billing since its gone back up to see if they are going to not honor any refunds like last time?
DarktidesNET 01-30-2003, 12:37 AM I cancelled my server with them yesterday ...
Op3rator 01-30-2003, 12:38 AM Looks like it's back up.

I think they should have probably tried a few sites in their browser before they shined that apple and showed it off.

XTNet 01-30-2003, 05:33 PM spoke too soon, im down again.
Just my server, not the atwebhost site :)
Down again, woohoo, 2 days down, 1 day up, whats next guys? what the heck is going on?!
Since two of my servers, from atwebhost and raq4less, both appear to be located at the Miami Data Vault in Florida - and both have been going down at the same time - I'm assuming the datacenter is either having equipment problems or still receiving DOS attacks.
Now if you only knew what idiot was running that datacenter...

Yes, your Raq4less server is located at MDV. Raq4less contracts with Netfree Communications for Colo and the Rack of Raq's that includes your server is at MDV. We also have been purchasing Bandwidth from Netfree Inc.
Atwebhost is now owned by Netfree Communications and Brian Coppola.
The Network datacenter is operated by Brian Coppola, President of Netfree Inc. Idiot? Isn't that a little Harsh?
Netfree has suffered from several DOS attacks lately and this has caused problems for all Netfree Colo customers in the MDV.
Raq4less is adding an additional carrier to our current Network, so that when the Netfree bandwidth has problems.... We will not be affected. We look to have this New solution in place by Mid Feburary.
Downtime of any sort is UNACCEPTABLE in my humble opinion!
