I have always had a love for the RAQ's are there any companies leasing them that anyone knows of?

Purely for personal self interest :)

I love those little blue boxes.

Trying to find them for rent as a dedi seems next to impossible these days.

This company seems to do that. raqshaq.com

thanks rickey,

Appreciate the link but I think $200 p/month for a 550 is insane although I accept the options may be very limited.

I might just buy one from ebay and colo it.

I don't think RaqShaq is really 'around' any more. I emailed them about 3 months ago searching for replacement parts for a couple of my RaQ4i units, and I never received a response. Plus, their prices are insanely high for what you're getting. The price would only be acceptable between 1999-2002 when the RAQ servers were new and still being produced.

Best way to get them now is from eBay, as long as you buy (at minimum) a RaQ4 with a new platform like BlueQuartz otherwise you'll be exploited in under a day due to the outdated operating system and packages.

If you have a static IP from your ISP, you can get a RaQ from eBay and run it yourself without having to purchase cabinet space from a colo facility. Takes less than a half hour to get it online.

If you're after the old cobalt interface you should look at BlueOnyx. It's the old cobalt OS renamed and revamped and it runs on pretty much anything. If you're after fully supported BlueOnyx hosting, please feel free to contact me.
