I am looking into making a personal site and I need to know if anybody knows which hosts has subdomain accounts so I dont have to pay for a domain.

the have a long list of subdomains to choose from, all are free including hosting, they just require you to put a banner on your pages.

I'm pointing that out, Spaz, so that if you do talk to a pay host and they ask you a lot of questions, you understand that it's nothing personal. Some have gotten burned.

Very true. If you decide to contact a pay host, you might mention right up front your reasons for wanting a subdomain as opposed to a domain of your own, for this very reason. Most spammers aren't so forthcoming, so it will be a breath of fresh air. :)

Why not go get a free domain from domain zero.com I mean it is free, and all you do is put up with a little junk mail that if needs be block them... I used webinfinity.org for the longest time, and I also registered 1800spankme.org with them, they work just like the real thing

Well its for basicly a personal site but I have a board that uses CGI and MySQL which most of the hosts dont offer. So I am willing to pay out some money. Is there a host that has free domain regestration? Maybe that is the way I should go.

Even if there were a host that offers subdomains along with MySQL and CGI, they cant say anything here because it would be considered a self promotion and their post would probably be deleted :D

Even when a paying host don't advertise, if what they do looks good and they are well regarded, just ask. It doesn't hurt, and only costs you a few electrons.. :cool:

You'll be surprised what some hosts would be willing to do to help.. ;)
