I just found out about it on http://maccentral.macworld.com/news/0105/12.adams.shtml
This is a sad day indeed. He brought me so much laughter and joy from his excellent Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy series of books. He's the reason I laugh each time I see the number 42.
All I can say is... I hope you didn't forget your towel, you never know when you might need it. And so long, thank you for the fish! :(
I read about it on slashdot.... perhaps on monday, I'll go check out Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy....

Well Said there. I've worn out at least 3 copies of HG, and at least 1 of the other 4 books in the "trilogy". Last I heard he was working on the movie. It just wont be the same now. :(
RIP Doug. You'll be sorely missed.

over at webhostdir we have a thread building regarding the sad news of Mr Adams death, it's currently degenerating into a discussion about promising to never exercise again and something about all getting drunk...
... I think he would have wanted it that way :D
The man who taught me it possible to get a couch stuck with no mathematical way of getting to out again....
... and placed the letters SEP into my vocabulary. The amazing ability to be able to totally ignore something due to it being 'Someone Else's Problem'
