Hey,
For the last 2 weeks now business has been really slow. We are doing twice as much advertising as we ever had. We have not had any problems with our service at all. I am wondering is it just us or is everyone seeing a slowdown? I know the adult industry is sucking water right now. People are saying their conversion ratios are way down. Anybody have any clue why? Market is not as bad as it was and I watch CNN religiously 1-2 hours a day. There is nothing I have noticed.
Thanks,

summer is coming - less time is going to be spent on the Internet.
any info besides the season would be appreciated. --> though this is a valid point but was expected...
could it be that every person on earth now has a hosting company?

That cannot be true. My three year old son has no hosting company, as far as I know :)

Sorry, can't offer any personal insight, as our activity has significantly increased over the past couple of weeks. This month, in fact, has been about 200% ahead of trends. In general, though, some people might be looking to trim costs, making hosting somewhat far away from their top priority, even if it is fairly cheap, relatively speaking. There is also the time factor consideration, where people might not be thinking about investing their time is setting up and maintaining a site when they could be out getting some sun (instead of being mole people :)).

Maybe because this industry is so saturated.
It seems now a days everwhere you go, either a friend or family member is a web designer, or hoster, or reseller.
Since reseller plans are so cheap, the hosting industry in my opinion is split into to parts:
NOC owners
Resellers
The NOC owners who are doing well are making the real money, and the resellers are a dime a dozen.
Now thats just my opinion...

I'm just curious, has your site traffic dropped off or is it just new orders that have dropped off?
We have been slightly above average this month as far as new orders. Our last slow period was the first week of April (I'm assuming tax time was to blame for that one!).

I think the market being saturated is a good point.I have been searching for the perfect host for a month now and Its hard with so many different hosts to look at.They all have great features etc.... I am finding it hard to pick a reliable and fast host that fits my needs.

We've had a steady increase of sales for about the past 6 months. Before then, it was pretty much the same every month.
The trend that we're seeing now is not so much first time hosters....but people fleeing from bad hosts.
I don't think the market is saturated - I think there are alot of companies out there that are going belly-up because of poor business planning and there will always be a market for quality/reliable hosting.

You are probably right but it is getting hard to tell which host will be around year from now or even a week from now.I know one thing Im looking for is a host I can stay with for years not months or days Im damn tired of moving;)
