Hello,

We are hosting few dedicated servers at DigitalNation.

Is there a way to set on one of the servers a "software router" ?

So when someone does a trace to our servers they will at the last two lines:
router.ourcopmany.com
ourcompany.com

I have been told that there are solutions like that.
So can you explain if its possiable and if so - how can i set a software router on one of our servers so will work for all of them ?

Thank you.

I think linuxrouter would not be a good solution for your dedicated server. Eventhough I think it's a great software to use at home.. but it's not an enterprise solution.

Look at MRTd .. http://www.mrtd.net , I think this is the best software router available out there.. plus ..it's FREE. :)

It has Cisco IOS look and feel, also has the same command as Cisco IOS. It also support BGP4+/BGP/RIPng/RIP2 . I think they just ported their software to work with NT and Windows 2000 as well.

Hope that'll help you,

Run OpenBSD and set it up as both router and firewall. If you're running Redhat you'll be glad to have the protection next time another remote root hole is found.
