That is a heck of a price for that machine and bandwidth. Anybody else have anything, or know of any place that has anything even remotely close to that?
They are sold out... I could use one of those machines. :)

Thanks, but I an not sure that I would want to put my hosting company on servers with that company.

I was looking over the UCG Xeon machine on their site and it isn't clearly stated that it actually is a dual machine. It sort of says it, but given the past history of UCG, I'd be leery of it without a clear statement that it actually is a dual processor box.

Sorry, but I don't think you can fairely compare RackShack.net to UnitedColo.com.
I've had access to two people's boxes on UnitedColo.com's network, and it was VERY lagged. I'd stick with RackShack.net without a doubt.

Well, I sure wish rackshack had more... I would get one tonight.
A machine like that would be nice, there are others that offer a similar machine, but the price is higher, and much less bandwidth.
I shoulda grabbed one when I saw two available. :( Now that I have a committment from a new client... it is too late.
Oh well.

Have you tried posting in the Requests forum? I'm sure somebody can hook you up with a similar deal at a decent price :)

Headsurfer said he was going to try and get more of the Xeons up over the next few weeks.

Thanks daveman,
I saw that on the rackshack forums.
Seems yet to be determined what the "new improved" set-up fee will be. :)
I did post in the Requests forum to see what other providers can come up with. Will see what develops.

We have been cutting our teeth on the new line and wanted to take it slow with teh first few. Quite honestly, we had no clue if anyone would buy them.
We now have 100 inbound that will be available late this week or just after the first of Feb.
Same specs and same monthly fee although the setup may go just a but higher, but not significantly.
These are very expensive machines to build. We are into each one over $1800. Intel MB and chips, WD 120 GB drives with a 8 mb buffer, that 'spensive memory, and a case that runs about $300.
Now that we have the process down and are happy with the operating specs, we'll start bringing them in about 100 at a time. (Unlike our other machines that we buy 500-1000-2000 at a time)

the only reason I know that is because I was looking at them before I decided I really wanted a managed server instead.

Glenn our ordering process continues to be on a first-come first-serve basis, however rest assured HeadSurfer will be posting about em' before he puts them up for grabs.
Thank you,
