So I decided to COMPLETELY remove everything from my RAQ that was not needed for the kernel to function w/the hardware. This includes all panel installs and everything from base and sausalito.

Basically ended up w/as clean as possible CentOS 5.6 setup and proceeded to install Apache 2.2, PHP5 and MySQL5.
If you don't need the Strongbolt trash (it's pretty weak and unfinished) and already have a SB2 install w/BlueQuartz and would like to start over
osoffice. co. uk / forum/ viewtopic.php?f=25&t=991
That topic there was the beginning of the CentOS 5/BlueOnyx discussion.
I wouldn't suggest attempting a BlueOnyx install as the tarball install has failed for me every time. And it's quite a few hours attempting it.
If you have successfully installed BlueOnyx with the new tarball I would like to hear from you. Mine failed after reboot last time. (You MAY have to re-flash and WILL have to restore your OS on the RAQ if the BlueOnyx install fails as you will not be able to SSH into the box. I haven't tried serial.)
If you are unsure as to how LAMP is installed, I found a quick link you can use. I checked the install commands and they are exactly how I install on servers running 5.6:
howtoforge. com / installing-apache2-with-php5-and-mysql-support-on-centos-5.6-lamp
A note, if you start from a RAQ3/4/550 to SB1 w/out BlueQuartz, please be sure to setup your /etc/hosts file or enjoy sendmail lag and possible issues on the local network.
Another thing to add, you will have no use of your LCD buttons because for some reason the SB guys decided to mess w/the lcdsleep.init (I'm pretty sure that was the menu handler)
You can still modify the LCD output, I just wrote a few LCD scripts today to display critical system info and shutdown the server based on drive and CPU temp. I'll post them eventually.
If this breaks your RAQ, don't blame me. I've spent weeks getting this server right where I want it (which is why it's named Goldilocks).
*PS: Apologize for breaking up the URLS but I don't have enough posts.
