Hello,

A few months ago I registered a domain name with namezero for free.
At the beginning of the year, I upgrade to the 'Plus account' to get the ownership of the domain.

The 20th April I got the ownership of it, and I'm listed as the registrat, admin and technical contact of my domain. (Namezero is still the billing contact).
My namezero domain is registered through NSI.

So I went to the NSI site to make the changes I want with their 'Advanced form' and i keeps redirecting me to this page (https://www.networksolutions.com/en_US/account/retail_a1.jhtml) asking me for a password I don't know :(

And when I try to make the changes through their standard forms (https://www.networksolutions.com/en_US/makechanges/forms.html) it keeps sending me this message :

Thank you for contacting Network Solutions, Inc., Registration Services.

The domain name you are attempting to update was registered
through WorldNIC Services and should be updated via the following
URL:

http://www.worldnic.com

You should have a password and an ISP password so you will be allowed
to make updates to this domain name record.

If you lose or forget your account number and password, simply call
WorldNIC's Customer Support at 1-888-NIC-WORLD (1-888-642-9675). Our
staff will ask you for your Domain Name, then ask you for your
authentication question and answer. (During registration you supplied
us with an authentication question and answer which we use to verify
your identity) If you answer correctly, we will provide you with your
account number and password.

Best Regards,

Network Solutions, Inc.

I tried to contact them but I did only receive a strange email without any information in it.

Someone know what I have to do ?
I really don't want to call them because :
1) It will cost a long distance call
2) Nobody will understand me because I really don't speak english :bawling:

Please help if you can...

I had the same problem when I registered my domain through NameZero's Services(which was done back in the day when it took 6 hours for the domain name to be registered).

Your best option is to transfer the domain name to a different registrar. GoDaddy, offers registration of domain names for only $8.95/year.

I don't know if NameZero charges something to "buy" the domain from them, but whatever it is, I think it would be better to pay than to put up with all the headaches.

I tried to transfer to another registrar but I couldn't because I have to wait another 60 days from the day they upgraded my account :(

(I first registered the 18th august 2000 but when they gave me the ownership it seems like they reseted the domain record and it shows 'record created 20th april 2001' so I have to wait :bawling: )

Yeah, NameZero is a pain. I've used it for one domain it's nothing but hassle now. They've keep on sending me spam, trying to get me to upgrade my account to the Plus option.

Furthermore, I just *know* they'll be killing my account. I've had several friends who have experienced that problem :(

This is a serious problem of NameZero's Free Domain Registrations services.

I would suggest you to contact NameZero to help you solve this problems and don't forget t CC your e-mail to other parties who are involved in the domain registration process.

Wish you all th best.

:)
