In my role as FAQ custodian for alt.www.webmaster I often receive email from people looking for help. This looks legitimate to me but I can't help the guy. I assume he's willing to pay for consulting services.

It's probably better for you if you don't tell him you saw it posted in a hosting forum, but you are free to tell him you heard about it from me.

My name is Cliff. I am an American enterpreneur with contacts in Egypt,
Saudi Arabia, and other parts of the Middle East. We, as a group, would like
to put together an ISP, based in the US, which will serve the countries
listed above.

I am having a hard time getting a cost figure for secondary services. If our
server goes down, is it not common to have a re-direct service to another
server to provide the service through until the problem can be corrected?
Where can I get the bandwidth? Who will (or can) be that re-direct service?

We haven't actually purchased the hardware, either. We want an outside
opinion of the hardware for our application. Someone who will tell us what
the best configuration of hardware is for today's internet. Will you help by
acting as a consultant? Are you versed enough in IT to provide the consult?
Please be honest. Millions of dollars could ride on decisions made on your
recommendations. I would appreciate the courtesy of a reply at your earliest
convenience.

If you are not the person we are looking for please refer us to someone who
can help.

I look forward to your response and thank you for your time.
