Clorox... but I warn if you keep it in too long it'll fry it.

You could try Hydrogen Peroxide too, but it may turn it orange. I used Hydrogen Peroxide on my air, and it turned it a platinum color, and I have a lightish brown color hair.

try a head shop see if they have hair colors....you might want to call a hair salon place and see what they say

All this stuff they use at salons are:

- ineffective (it lasts for no more than 30 days usually)
- expensive.

I recommend buying some white paint (the one you would use for house renovations) and do the thing yourself. You can actually use the whole can of paint till you either lose your hair or just don't need coloring anymore. :D

PS: Be sure to buy paint for "outdoor" use.

dark white?

i've seen it done before, but no idea how.

I've dyed my body green with jello powder in a hot tub before, if that helps.

I use one of the blonde kits from Jane Hellen. It's a powder that is mixed with the cream. It can stay in the hair for up to 60 minutes without destroying it. It isn't white, but close. When you do the new growth, you can do the rest one more time and make it whiter.

What I wan't to know is how to keep the black colour black in my hair. I wish the same sort I use for blond cam in black as well, but it doesn't. I can wash out permanent dye from my hair week after week, as if it were non-permanent. :( It even colours my blond/white part, turning it a bad blue.

Should that be acrylic or enamel, full gloss or matt finish and I suppose it would need to have solar guard rating.

You should go to a hair salon to get the job done correctly.
Go to a chinese or japanese salon if you want the best result.
They will bleach your hair pure blonde, and then apply the necessary color to give you the desired result.
I dyed my hair from black to blonde and its very nice!!

I agree. Go to a salon. DIY could have you end up with orange hair or green or something totally weird and then you would probably find yourself begging someone at a salon to fix it anyway. :stickout:

Why don't you just use white hair dye? :-p (or is it die*?)

haha, ok, do you mind telling us how long your body stays that color? How cool for sports events and/or halloween :D

Of course you could just go with the natural look. i.e. leave it the colour nature gave you.

LOL. I think you're talking about latex paint. Trust me it wouldn't work it would get all globby and crap. I'd just keep bleaching it over and over. I've seen girls though in there mid 20's with white hair, so it is posible.

I used latex paint once to paint my hair, white all over and red down the middle (renovation project). Don't expect to be able to move your hair till it comes out. (It does come off with a good deal of combing)

You missed your chance to get white hair. You could have installed Microsoft SQL 2000 on the server with your most annoying clients (warning, do NOT apply the security patches or you won't get white hair!!) and then just sit back, get a mirror and watch the white hair grow :D

But you missed it!

Well, the drapes always have to match the carpeting.
So I would assume the answer is yes for both...

I had this sporty little white convertible, and I thought that I would be too cool for school with white hair. On a whim, I decided to do this. I luckily found a very "cool chick" to do it, and she took very good care of the bleaching process....Because my hair was so dark, she did a double process....and waited three days in between the two bleachings. After this a platinum dye was applied. In order to get this "great white" look, you have to continue doing it over and over.....applying it to the roots every two to four weeks, and working it out a little bit for a few minutes to continue whitening the hair. There are also special shampoos involved. Shimmering Lights is a good product and it's purple. Yes, purple shampoo neutralizes the yellow tones that develop from light dye processes.
After spending my eighty bucks, plus 20 for special hair care products (and the three grueling days with bright yellow hair to "save" my scalp) I was in seventh heaven feeling like an angel that had been placed on the earth. I however became very upset when my dark black hair started showing through like fleas on my scalp! I quickly went to the store to save some cash and bought an ash blonde dye for the roots.....this turned my hair green. After eight shampoos with purple shimmering lights, I restored the color to it's "almost original" form.
To make an already long story short, this damaged the crap out of my scalp despite the extra care. I lost hair, and had lots of breaking. In a last ditch effort I was so tired of my "deader than dead" hair that I shaved it....this messed up my scalp even more.
So there you have it....what seems cool is cool for about a week. The dark haired girls that can pull this off do under layer treatments and don't take the bleach to the scalp. If you have extremely light hair you can do it to with very little damage and take it to the root.

Gandalf? He wore a wig! Don't be silly and dye your hair white!
