i have a RaQ4r setup with POP-before-relay. i have a customer who was able to relay w/ Eudora before setting up a proxy server. now this customer is able to POP through the proxy fine, but can't relay. he gets an error every time. the error is, "Error 550: Unable to relay." he knows to send messages within 15 minutes after checking messages. does anyone know how to correct this problem?

With one of the machines i help administer we put his proxy in the relaying list and it works fine now.

my customer is using dial up w/ dynamicly assigned IP addresses. what can i put in the allow relaying area that will not become obsolete with every dial in? using the smtp of the dial up company is not on option. they wholesale dial up accouts to me and do not allow relaying at all.

I had the same problem, but my client's IP always begins with a specific number, e.g. 169.XXX.XXX.XXX. So I put in 169. in the relay. Generally, the first part of the IP does not change -- though this is not certain.

The only other option is to allow all addresses and make sure the POP before Relay is set up properly.
