What exactly do you mean by the term "green"? Are you alluding to the fact that someone needs to be brainwashed to fall into yet another marketing scheme of the cheapest sort?

It is not a marketing scheme. Green hosting providers offer web hosting that is less taxing on the environment. There are many ways a provider can go green -- some choose Renewable Energy Credits, some choose to utilize a green data center, some do both.

There is one host that I know of that owns and operates their own completely solar powered data center. They're called AISO.Net (http://www.aiso.net/). Never used their services, but you should check them out.

I agree -- they do own and operate their own data center, but I am not sure about their connectivity.
