i have an old raq4 with raid from way back when my dad worked on things

i would like to install the latest version of blueonyx on it. do i need to flash the rom to make this work before i install blueonyx?

or can i only install the really old centos stuff

i have answered this question for myself if anyone else wants to know.

i had to install Strongbolt1 and allow it to reflash the ROM to get CentOS on there. once the rom is flashed it's a simple matter of updating your kernel.

for those not used to kernel hacking i wouldnt suggest fiddling with it, and would instead install strongbolt2

also, if anyone is interested in modifying the lcd output (minus button usage) there's a thread on raqcop regarding the physical address location and some LCDproc info
