I just thought I would post about a recent change in DNS Hosting that I am very happy with.

I have a customer that runs a Car Owners web site vx220.org.uk, who has previously had issues with DNS Exploits in BIND, and timeouts when hosting their own DNS.

To improve DNS reliability and performance I recommended that they switch to an Anycast DNS solution. Unfortunately they found that there is usually a large cost attached to Anycast DNS.

Since we have moved the domain to a service at http://www.dnstrouble.com/anycast/ that offers a Free Anycast DNS for up to 5 domains.

Within 5 minutes, the account was up and running and the Domain and Zone setup and ready to go.

Since the name servers have been changed at the registrar the domain has seen no downtime due to DNS related issues or hacks.
