prolly a dumb question, but what is the lunch pass - is it worth paying the $110 extra for it? any lobster? :P

Lunch is a buffet - you select what you want, sit down and eat. Soft drinks (soda) are included.

I bought the lunch in 2009 and 2010 but only ate it on one day in 2009 and didn't eat it at all in 2010 (instead choosing to go out with people to a nearby restaurant) so I've opted to skip the lunch for this year.

It's not that good, in my opinion.

For me, the lunch was worth it for networking opportunities not the value of the food. Everyone sits at large banquet tables (like you'd have at a wedding) so it was a good way to meet new people.

Ya, I also have the same viewpoint as Mr.ameeriklane had given. By the lunch session we can get opportunity to interact with other unknown people who may be the experts and can also go through important discussions with them which will really be fruitful for us.
