Hi,

i have RAQ 3i to a RAQ 4i include the software for a RAQ 4i and 512 MB RAM,
i have change the CPU AMD K6-2 300 MHZ to a AMD K6-2 500

I install this 500 MHZ in, but when i lookup with cat /proc/cpuinfo it display only 300 MHZ.

On the board i can't find any jumper to switch up the CPU speed, it's works also not with a AMD K6-2 500 MHZ only 300 MHZ.

Anyone have a Idea for this problem ????

Please help my...

I am no expert on the subject but it is my belief that the RAQ3 has no bios so doing a CPU upgrade is very difficult. I'm sure BruceT can shed some more light on this subject.

I have read something about it.
You have to connect 2 pins of the 500 MHz CPU but i do not know which...

There is not a BIOS, but there is a ROM image which contains a kernel and some other bits to help the server boot.

You can jumper two holes in the CPU socket to increase the multiplier. Go to marc.theaimsgroup.com and search the cobalt-users mailing list from about 3 weeks ago. There was a very long thread, with several informative posts on the subject, including a link to a website with pictures and everything...
