Every now and then I keep running into a webhost that claims quite proudly that it provides non-Cogent bandwidth.

I presume that this means that they don't use Cogent as a bandwidth provider. Can anyone tell me what the problem is with Cogent? Why does it seem to have such a bad reputation?

Some people are fine with it, some people are not. Do a search and you'll find lots of very strong opinions.

Personal Opinion Stuff. Kind of like AMD vs. intel.

I had cogent a while back, was much cheaper than my now internap but it was good, no real problems at all. I do get faster pings though with internap and uptime guarentees

i prefer intel, too, but the last time my pc was put into sleep, i had no money for intel, so i got AMD. its seems to be working fine though... :eek:
