Kyle,

Incidentally, I did a DNSReport on tabserver.net and found that you did not set up the Reverse DNS which could be why you could be facing the problem.

http://www.dnsreport.com/tools/dnsreport.ch?domain=tabserver.net

"Reverse DNS entries for MX records ERROR: None of your mail server(s) seem to have reverse DNS (PTR) entries (I didn't get any responses for them). RFC1912 2.1 says you should have a reverse DNS for all your mail servers. It is strongly urged that you have them, as many mailservers will not accept mail from mailservers with no reverse DNS entry. This may be a false positive due to the nasty BIND bug (client side) that causes reverse DNS entries to fail the first time (if you ever see long delays in reverse DNS lookups, that's because of this bug). You can double-check using the 'Reverse DNS Lookup' tool at the DNSstuff site. "

And

"FAIL Connect to mail servers ERROR: I could not connect to any of your mailservers!
tabserver.net: Timed out "

You might want to have your web host add the Reverse DNS and you might want to restart your mail server.

Using http://www.dnsstuff.com

Did a Ping and got :-

Pinging tabserver.net [65.247.216.41]:

Ping #1: Got reply from 65.247.216.41 in 238ms [TTL=49]
Ping #2: * [No response]
Ping #3: * [No response]
Ping #4: Got reply from 65.247.216.41 in 502ms [TTL=49]

Did a MX Timing test :- http://www.dnsstuff.com/tools/dnstime.ch?name=tabserver.net&type=MX

It shows that there is a lot of lag/slow access to your mail server.

Check to see if there is any problem with the server or if someone is abusing your mail server or not. 368ms is really slow.

Like I say, just reboot your server and see if it recovers.

And do check the Mail Statistics in WHM if there are any unauthorized mailings made by someone. Either sending spams or receiving them. It can bring the server to a crawl.

Although I think this is a dns issue, inside the server configuration, does anyone else have any thoughts based upon:
http://www.dnsreport.com/tools/dnsreport.ch?domain=tabserver.net

It is NOT a DNS issue. You do NOT need revese DNS.

Roly,

The last time I went without RDns, some emails never got delivered. After having it set up, it worked like a charm.

I would have thought that since the RFC require you to have reverse dns, it would be something essential.
