Yea.. it's cheap, but only for the first 3 months :D After the first three months, then with only 20GB, your linux server will cost you $229/mo. Which might still be OK, but if you may find a better deal on this. Also, you will be required to have 6 months of contract. Hence, for the six months, your total payment would be $984 or about $159/mo... well, not too bad actually... But if you plan to have the server for more than 6 months and don't like to have any contract, there are some places where you can get about the same price.
Their overage charge at $5/GB is not really fantastic. acceptable... but you can get cheaper with somebody else...
Their windows server, however seems to be a better deal....
cheers,

But read about the Windows Plan:
"In order to ensure this rate, you must provide Pennyhost with evidence of ownership of Microsoft's Windows Advanced Server 2000 license. Acceptable evidence of this license is either a copy of the e-mail sent by Microsoft upon purchase of this product, or a faxed copy of the license itself that comes with the OS.
If you do not own your own copy of Windows 2000 Advanced Server, PennyHost will provide the license. In this case the monthly rate, after the first three months, will be $309."

Why would you need "Advanced Server" -- it is expensive! It is almost double the price of "Windows 2000 Server"!!

Load balance & Clustering. Those are the things you may need that is not part of 2000 Server.
On a single server, not to sure why to use Advanced.

I knew this... I'll be more clear, there is ALMOST NO REASON to require the more expensive Advanced Server... foolish.

There is no reason. Would think a potential customer might explore other datacenters and managed servers if they required a web farm.:stickout
