We have been looking for a host for 2 win2k dedicated servers. ( i posted a 'help/ quote me' message in advertising section detailing requirements)

Our benchamrk quote so far is from Dellhost as follows: Server1 (database/Mail) 599 pm & 399 setup for dual pent. 933, 2x9gb scsi 512mb ram

Server2 (web/asp) 349pm & 299setup for pent650, 2x9gb scsi, 256mb ram

This is top end of our budget as does not include cost of sql Server 2k or Mail server (iMail6 or exch5.5) software. Also only21gb bwidth, which could be a problem for us.

For US based hosting, is this a good deal?
Has anyone had RECENT experiences of Dellhost tech support, especially liaision when setting up systems?
Once again , based on RECENT experience, who else would you recommend we should consider?
Are we right to expect 42gb bwidth irrespective that it will be used by mainly one machine?

( If answering this breaks advertising rules, try my thread in advertising forum or contact direct hudchase@hotmail.com)

All the best,
Gavina

Hello Gavina,

I have heard good things about DellHost and they use great equipment (we use the same stuff :)).

I did hear that they cut back on their staff a little (20%), not sure how that will affect support.

Best wishes,

Dellhost just laid off 45% of there hosting tech support staff. Which is really just a sub division of interliant.

cbaker17,

You are right, DellHost is not completely run by Dell. They actually partnered up with a larger company, I think Interliant.

A couple of our customers have moved from DellHost and they had ok things to say about their services.

I can recommend ECUI.com for win 2k dedicated servers. Good price, bandwidth, fast and responsible support.
