Hey there,
We may be able to help out, contact me off WHT and we'll see what we can figure out. We can certainly develop some more features to suit your needs and overhaul the existing backend code.
Due to it's non-paid nature though we'd need to really discuss whether we'd have the time and/or resources to handle your needed development.
Cheers,
Stuart
I sent you an email.....no reply as yet .....

Hey Ed,
Considering Bishops is very similar to Chess I'd say Java and Perl are the perfect combination. Perl should handle all the actual rule related actions (ie. moving a piece should be processed by Perl and the new board layout handed to the applet) while Java should be employed to handle all the graphical stuff (I've got some interesting ideas for this which I'll get in touch with you about soon(ish), since this is a commission based project it comes AFTER existing paying clients etc.).
Finally, I'd say Flash is a bad idea, it's much less cross-browser compatible in my experience and it would be ideal to offer a text and Java based version so one could play the game in either mode. Once again, I'll send an email with all this sort of info when I can.
Finally, as someone has recommended, you'd definitely need to redesign your website so it was more modern and user friendly. With a bit of luck I can see avid Chess players playing Bishops and/or Chess on the website, it just needs a bit of work.
Will get in touch,
Stuart
re the website look could you give me a few sample URL's of site layouts that are " modern" ? I have FP2000 and can maybe get a better one made up ....soon....
there is so many different ways to make a website homepage look ....I dont know what is best right now...
But the ones with cgi and mysql is hopefully on the perl and java end of it....

Hi again...
hey ... commission is still money....:cartman:
at 25% commission for 2000 new members......if I could program this !#$%^&* I invented I would do it. But I can only do some things.....not the java...perl....connections... etc etc
