View Full Version : Need NT web/mailing list host

Hello,

I hope this is an appropriate spot for this -- I'm looking for a host for a design client. What I need is an NT host that supports Access and mailing lists. Of the NT hosts I've checked out, most don't offer mailing lists, and if they do they're limited to a few hundred users. I'm looking for something that supports around 10K users (I don't think he'll get that many, but he does).

I'm not looking for a $5 a month host -- I've tried that route for other projects with terrible results.

Thanks,

-Mark

I looked at Bcentral, and may go with that, but I'm looking for an all-in-one deal to make things a bit easier.

Thanks again.

hello,

markt, can you list out all the features you need in the mailing list..
Currently, I would be needing one myself. So I have decided to write it myself.

The features I would having in the script are as follows:

Unlimited Users
Plain Text Mailing List (for html you have to wait few weeks)
user subscribe and unsubscribe feature
ability to send out the name like

Hello $yourname
with also a feature that you see
To: you@you.com

anymore features that you may like ?

Thanks,

That would basically be what I need. He's going to be running a nonprofit site that takes donations of unwanted "stuff" from businesses (desks, chairs, old computers, whatever) and gives them to other non-profit groups throughout New England.

The plan is to let businesses post their proposed donations to an Access db via a web form. After review, he'd send it to a mailing list of non-profits.

I'd like to make this as simple as possible (hence my desire to go with one host for both services) because I'm doing this cheap (he's a friend) and I've got other stuff lined up.

Thanks,

markt, I have made an succesful attempt in creating the script.

The following features are in the script..

- User Subscription
- Deleting User(s) through Admin Console
- Access Database (backend)
- Sending out e-mail in Plain text

But following are the features that the script lacks.. But I would try my best to cover them in my next release.

- User Unsubscription
- HTML Format
- Username and email of user.

I am just testing the script for any possible bugs.

The script would be most probably available by tomorrow.

Thanks,

Omair,

Thanks for your reply. He wants to go with something that's been around for a while.
