The CPanel website http://www.cpanel.net seem to be down at the moment. I just wanted to find out if CPanel-WHM works on Windows 2000 servers as well as Linux.

Just seen that VDI are selling cpanel-WHM for $100 per server per month - more affordable than before.

I just read the discussion on the different versions of CPanel: http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?threadid=10178

(darkorb and VDI)

Is it worth buying CPanel from VDI to use externally, or is it worth spending more and buying it from BurstNet.

How many outrages have there been from having CPanel on VDI?

I commend you on dropping the price since the old external license was so overpriced. I think this move will sell alot more :)

Will this price remain the same when the new version (whatever its name may be) comes out?

when I go to cpanel.net, all I see is this:

As of May 1st DarkORB is no longer associated with VDI.
DarkORB does not sell Cpanel directly to end users. Please try one of
our distributors.

BurstNET
Liquidweb
Powersurge

But I don't see any new CPanel demos etc.

Do you have a link for the new CPanel, on RedHat 7?

Look, I don't want to seem rude or like some big complainer, and I don't really even come here anymore -- but, I have worked for a few company's that run Cpanel servers, and I'm just wondering.. don't you think it would be a good idea to actually get Cpanel/WHM to work properly on 6.2, before bothering to release it for 7.1?

I'm not sure why it's so non portable, nor do I really care since I don't like the thing at all, but I'll tell you, this is incredibly aggravating and stressful for this program to interfere with my job of administrating web servers, because of all the problems it creates! Again, not trying to complain, but control panel's are supposed to make it "easier" for the system administrators, and quicker and easier for the clients of the web host.

At this rate, I think you'd best not worry about that version of Linux it runs on, or any other OS for that matter, but to simply restructure this product and code it properly. This statement and opinion is not intended to offend the product or the developers, but how much extra work I have been having to do over the last few months because of this product interfering and screwing things up, is ridiculous and I'm about at my wits end with it!

At the very least, would it be possible for you to have some documentation on what files Cpanel/WHM use and how, and where they store the relevant information, so people don't have to endlessly search the file system for off the wall files specifically there for Cpanel/WHM's use and waste more of the system administrator's time trying to fix another products problems? I'm tired of this guessing game.. I think enough of that went into the code, by the looks of it. Anyway, just a thought, before you worry about that 'version' is will function on, when it's functioning in the same manner anyway. It would make a lot of people's job's a lot easier. Thanks.
