Good luck. You may want to consider posting where you graduated from last year?

I graduated from a public high school. College just doesn't seem appealing to me except for the papers.. I mean I learn more about servers/programming/more experience from this forum and others than a college could teach in 4 years all together.

Anyway, anybody interested ?

Yes you can learn more by doing, but that degree means a lot. Having that piece of paper can do wonders. Give it a try ;). Good luck in your job hunt.

I hate college too but its important for that one letter. It will land you jobs so easy. There is a great Arts school in Philadelphia which would probably be a great fit for you. well good luck (check you PM.

College isnt about coming out with all the knowledge in the world. College is about showing your employer your dedicated, have a great basic overall knowledge, and have the initiative to work hard. Sure you learn a lot, but the actual class portion is only three or so hours a day. College is meant to be a whole experience, a period of time allowing one to mature while maintaing an education.

That being said, can you post some more information, possibly a resume?

Good Luck. Next time you post you might want to take a few minutes to actually spell out the words instead of using abbreviations, and then run it throught a spell-checker. Thats one of the things I learned in college :)

Actually, unfortunately college IS all about knowledge. You can go through 4 years of college, sleep through it almost and still walk out with a degree. I've seen it done many times.. Dedication can be shown other ways, one being on someone's resume, contacting employers and the like (which most any decent company will do anyways).. That's how you judge dedication, not by some 4 year degree.

Hi Kyle, I know what you mean, sometimes college isn't for everyone, but you will need papers, Certification isn't the SAME, or even as close to as credible as a degree(in some terms, not all). However, you may want to checkout http://www.techskills.com and see if they are close to you, I got my MCIWD and Oracle certifications there, they are a great staff and faculty, and I learned a lot from them.

You can get their IT membership for 24 months, and study in all areas and become more rounded, and get more certifications, I am still considering it myself. If you don't have the money, I'm sure you can get a loan, and get a regular job in the meantime and help pay for this, cause it really helps when you are applying for jobs like this, hope that helps you, good luck in your search bro.

I'd suggest a 2 year school, half the time and a least that way you have a degree, and most with most schools, you'll come out with a certification of some sort as well (CCNA, A+ etc etc)...
