I do web site design/logos but like most people I'm not interested in hosting.

The kind of people that would be interested in your offer aren't going to be professional designers. Maybe you're looking for a design that looks like a 13 year old kid did it. For something like a corporate branding shelling out $200 is worth it.

You're absolutely right... People might be able to get logos, perhaps even entire web sites made for them in exchange for free hosting- but more likely than not the result will not be very good.

If you're going to try to do a barter proposal, you need to offer something of equal or greater value, something that the designer is going to WANT.

I get lots of offers for hosting but only thing I work for is the good old $green$ stuff

I totally agree with what you all say. At most you will do one job for exchange of webhosting. After that you don't need any more accounts, you need cash.

Also keep in mind that you get what you pay for!
