Whats the deal with adding users in the control panel after u sign up for web hosting? You can set FTP access and all, but do web hosts actually allow you to hand out those user accounts to friends and give each one a free web site or wat? wat are the user accounts meant to be used for?

It is the feature of the Control panel. I am not familiar with FeaturePrice.com but here is just a general idea of what it can be used for. But of course, if you do not want to use it, no one will stop you.

The web host usually would not set up email accounts for you. So if you are running a company website or maybe sort of a club of sorts, you may have various functions held by different individuals. It would be nice to provide an email address to each one of them and each might want to have their own ftp access to update the website specific to their function.

For instance, you might have a couple of your friends who designs the website, each can have their own ftp access so they can update their portion of work. You as the web host can probably control which directory they have access to and which they don't.

Some of the plans allows you to host more than one website based on that account. So if you have multiple websites you want to host (your own), you can do so without having to pay for 3 or 4 separate accounts. Does save you some money along the way. Of course, if you don't sell anyone the web site account, you can give them away. But the total space and bandwidth would be under the main account.

Of course, you cannot sell those separate website space. If you want to sell, you need to get a Reseller's account.

If you only have 1 hosting account, can you still give out free web sites to by creating a directory which each user can access. Do web hosts consider this legal?

Legally speaking, if it is not a reseller's account, you can only create additional websites for your own personal use.

But as far as what you are saying is concern, different web host would have different policies in regards to that, so for further clarification, you might want to contact them to see what is permitted and what is not.
