I want to install a photo gallery software in my site.
I would like to be able to limit the size of each photo to a specific size (eg 200 Kb). Also it would be nice to use the database of my forum for the members who will have access but if it is not possible, its ok. Also I would like to prevent guests from uploading. Comments to each photo (critique) should also be useful, as well with a rating system for each photo/user. Is there anything like that out there in the internet?

It seems cool! Thanx!
Have you tried it? Can I configure its template so that to attach it to my site and look nice?

Sure, some of our clients have done some great work with it. There are also some pre-made templates here:

PHP Photopost. It integrates very well with vBulletin, phpBB, etc.

I will second photopost. I own a license and actually work over there as tech support for them. It integrates with the big three message boards (UBB.threads, phpBB, vBulletin) easily.

I thought about that after I posted, but I am not an employee of their company. I just have a lot of experience with their software and setting it up so I am a moderator on their customer support forms. :)

Does GMS version allow users to upload pictures (jpg& gif)? In the demo under users it has: Do you want to allow ZIP uploads? Enabling that would allow user to upload their pictures to your gallery? That's what I'm looking for. I'll snoop some more over there also! THanks!

The GMS version is really the personal edition. This version does not allow users from your site to upload and publish photos. This is more for someone to personally update and maintain a photo gallery.

If you want to have users of your site create accounts and upload photos and such you would need the pro version, which essentially is like a message board in which you have photo galleries.

Also, what it means by zip uploads is you can have a zip file with 20 photos in it, and just upload the zip. It will then unzip the package and individual add each photo to the gallery. You can also modify photopost to allow other filetypes, such as videos, PDF, etc etc. But its core usage is for images and automatic thumbnail creation.

There has been talk about it in an upcoming release, but as of now it isn't officially supported.
