Hi
i am getting a Red Hat 7.3 dedicated server, i would buy also a dedicated on Win2k, but i know that i can use asp also on linux, someone can tell me if is a good solution run asp on linux or what problem i will have?

chillisoft is the onlyone that i'd suggest for commercial use, the other option just isn't good enough.

Do u think that with chillisoft i have a good asp performance? but i can use also Access db? or which db?

If you want optimum ASP performance, it actually is better if you use a Windows based server.

I'd do php on linux over asp-->chilisoft any day

there's no use in installing it if you are going to be selling it to customers.

people who use ASP know the best environment to run it on is in windows.

True, if people are smart enough to be using ASP (or any other scripting language) they are going to know where it fits best.

ASP almost always communicates with a database.. that isn't going to work the Linux side - no Access or anything.

That is not correct. You can use ASP with mysql/postgresql using chilisoft. It works much better than ASP with Access on a windows server.
However I would not recommend asp on linux because with really intensive web apps you certainly notice the difference. We have been running chilisoft asp for over 2 years and IMHO it is not worth the aggrevation. Stick to PHP on linux and ASP on windows.
