6236K of free mem isn't too litle ?

I wouldn't worry.
If it is on Linux, it is expected; this doesn't mean that the 'used' memory is actually being used by programs.

^ as he said free memory is used memory, this is how linux works. Linux uses all available memory and releases it to programs that *actually* are using it.
