Sadly, the internet bubble has bursted and most of those providing free space are no longer there. Those that are are controlling their resources now.

If you have an internet account, you might be provided with some free website which you could use. The other thing is that you could always email the person the 5.6mb file since some mailbox are 10mb or more in size.

Alternatively, you could always arrange to meet on an IRC server and just DCC the file directly to him. Of course both of you must be online at the same time.

You could use winrar/winzip and split up the file into smaller pieces as well. Then stick them in your yahoo breifcase. Actually for yahoo breifcase it can be up to 10 megs in size I believe.

You will need a computer which is connected to the internet and a IRC client software. One of the more popular ones is MIRC http://www.mirc.com/ . You can download it, select a server and make sure the other party is connected to the same server or at least the same network.

You will have to assign yourself a nickname and the other one too. As to use to use the program, do refer to the documentation which comes with it. It is rather easy.

On the above website, there is Introduction to IRC and Introduction to MIRC, so that should get you going.

Geez- sounds like it would be faster to burn it on a CD and mail it.
