not too sure how you guys are going to be about this?
but does anyone want to post a scrap version of their welcome email. Or at least some up what you guys include.
I've got another person in this week to re-do a lot of little odds and ends, one of which includes our welcome email, and I was hopping to have somewhat of a resource for him.

I'd be really interested in information/parts of an existing one/ or even a full welcome email if you have one and are willing to distribute it to me :)
Thanks!

We have a page we get people to visit (they can then bookmark it for future reference).
We give them it with there username and domain name set as variables so its dynamically built for them. Saves us a lot of time also.
Here is what it would look like for user jbloggs using the domain joebloggs.com
http://unitedhosting.co.uk/welcome.php?server=storm&domain=joebloggs.com&username=jbloggs
If he was a reseller customer we would turn the reseller flag on and he gets a welcome email with extra sections and changed info:
http://unitedhosting.co.uk/welcome.php?server=storm&domain=joebloggs.com&username=jbloggs&reseller=yes
Hope this helps - dont steal our ideas! :)

Hardly think that concept was your original idea. :D

just put a request up in the hosting requests forum asking for a small free hosting account. Then see what their welcome email is... if they have one that is

I guess having a page like that could wind up saving quite a bit of time.
I think im still a fan of sending an actual email with everything in it though. Most people are really bad at keeping track of urls and bookmarks and whatnot.
Nice layout by the way.

I think people keep a favorites link more than they keep a welcome email. I love keeping my outlook super tidy and always migrate everything out of it when i can.
I suppose its personal choice really.. we used a "welcome page" idea because the next step is to automate it with our signup.. so no email is needed at all.

I like your idea Matt, and we are going to do something similar on our FAQ/Resources site (just put up the template welcome email per control panel). But I think an email is necessary for printing out (many folks still do that :)).
You could consider a "Print Friendly Page" on yours that pops up the template with all graphics removed, for printing.

I suppose i could just add a link to the html page to pring a "print friendly" version, wouldnt take long to make.
