I signed up with the JaguarPC.com reseller program, but their account set-up time is less than 24 hours (usually 12 hours) ...so its not INSTANT. I was wondering if customers like instant setup more or if they would way that time?
Thanks

Most people are willing to wait for a bit, as they understand that not everyone has automatic setup. They're even more willing if they have that good vibe going about their new host.

Yes, but newcomers for instance are very happy with instant setup. Some people are anxious to start with their account...

After our move to DI is complete setup times will improve dramatically. Also instant activation for reseller acounts will be implmented very soon after that.

Are you planning any further improvements?
We actually have quite a few things planned that we will begin after the move is complete. Adding reseller packages and some changes to the reseller area behind the scenes. And when our cpanel replacement software is finsihed there will be a ton of new reseller features. I don't really want to get into too much detail here until its closer to being finished but if you ICQ me or email I will be happy to tell you more.

The faster the better but a short wait no one should complain about.
Many delays in setting up an account are because the customer entered some invalid or incorrect info on the order.

Talking of which.......
Does anyone know where I could get an instant sign up script that would work with Webhost Manager/Cpanel?
I got this domain name 1minutewebhost.com a while ago with the idea of setting up another brand with instant account activation.
Any ideas on how this could be achieved or how others have done it would be appreciated.
Not too concerned about the credit card processing side, just the account set up side.

I think most people are willing to wait up to 48 hours for their account to be set up and running. Of course having "instant setup" will most likely give you a slight competitive edge, so go for it!

There's a free version available based on PHP, the download link can be found at the following thread:

I signed up as a reseller with experthosting and it took over two weeks to get my ip and login info.
Although my credit card was billed on the same day I signed up.
I've been trying to cancel for several months now as well.
I faxed the request to UK, sent a letter stating such via airmail to UK, and still haven't heard anything:rolleyes:

Good luck, since you're dealing with Peter Francis-Macrae/David Jarvis AKA weaselboy. Don't count on hearing anything from him. Your best bet is to just do a chargeback on your credit card if your bank supports it. He likely still doesn't have his own merchant account, so call up whoever is providing service for him with regard to billing and instruct them that they are not to proces any further charges from him to your card. And stay away from that guy. He's bad news, no matter what name he's using.

I use this script (but paid for it) and it is good, but not automated as Gordon requires. It places orders in a database that awaits for your approval. After you log into the admin interface of the script, you select an order and click 'create'. It then creates the hosting account for your, and sends an email to the client with account details.
The worst thing about this is that I have gotten lazy. A customer filled the orderform out and left a blank space at the end of the username. I clicked 'create' without catching this, and it ended up crashing Apache while setting up the account :(
I love the script, and can not imagine living without it. It cuts the time I spend creating an account down to a few minutes (or however long it takes for me to confirm the payment)
It is compatable with revcom/instabill and even paypal
It checks the server for user names that are already taken
I've used the script for almost a month now, and the 'blank space' bug is the only problem I have had with it. It is a pretty solid script, and I recommed it... but it is in no way automated, even though by looking at the source code it is easy to figure out how to make it automated if you do not care about confirming payments (3 day free trial? :))
