Whats yours?

I've only tried Ensim and CPanel.. and CPanel is my fav of those 2.

Why, a lot easier to use.. and makes it seems a lot more feature rich and more has more flexability.

I have used Ensim, Plesk and Cpanel for like 2 minutes. I don't really remember it so I like Plesk the most. Ensim is just to much advanced sorta. I can't put it into words but im sure you know what I mean:stickout:

H-Sphere and CPanel are the most user friendly ones... but I like Ababa CP!

I used the Cobalt RaQ Control Panel, Ensim, Plesk and Cpanel/Whm in the past.

The easiest to use was the Cobalt RaQ Control Panel. Cpanel/WHM is the most comprehensive though but not all that friendly to a newbie like me but of course, I am learning new things each day.

Out of plesk, Ensim, CPanel, Web.cp and webmin, i'd have to vote CPanel also.

Plesk - Bland, expensive, rackshack molested and flooded any potential market IMHO
Ensim - Too many people offer it free, its ugly, difficult to install, and lacks a lot of functionality
Web.cp - Call me when you get it installed *properly* and i'm sure you'll get a medal of some sort
webmin - Nice, easy to install, no functionality for hosting or anything else particularly usefull with default install though
CPanel - Quick and dirty basic install, installs *everything* for you, people love it, has most features by far, and works the best IMHO.

:D pretty much, i wasn't thrilled with ensim's lame arse excuse for an install on the *ONE* and only server i've ever installed it on, it broke before we could even finish the install :rolleyes:, and we had to get tech support just to get the install finished, wasn't thrilled.

I really don't have much experience with control panels but I've seen a few.

My last host (company site) had Cpanel. I liked it but it seemed a bit too much at times with all the options, etc. It did have some cool features though!!!

My new host has a cool control panel that's slick and easy to use called IControl. A lot of features but not cluttered like Cpanel was.

I've only tried cpanel and love it, especially with all the cool skins it has :D it's pretty easy & basic!

I have used these cp, and like in the following order
Cpanel/Whm
Ensim
Plesk
Cobalt RaQ Control Panel

cPanel - It allows the end user almost 100% full control over their domain (Except of course DNS :(). It's all point and click and grouped into easy to understand categories.

Constantly in development, new features added a fair bit.

Never tried any others though, only demos, and I didn't care for them (Plesk, zervex or whatever, Ensim)

Well, cpanel is my favourite, but the initial question is wrong from its base. The correct question is : when you want to do that type of hosting, what is your favourite cp? (where "that type of hosting"...is the hosting that you have in mind to offer). Till now I don't think that there are control panels that point to the exact same market..so there is no possibility for exact comparison..so I can't have a specific favourite for general use. The only 2 that come a bit close is Plesk & Cpanel, but just thinking of the different ways to sell them...it can make the difference for somebody. (I don't even consider Ensim as it is made by evil minds for aspiring evil users :D ). Hsphere offers some features that others don't have or at least they start to insert now.

#1 It supports billing internally

#2 it scales to multiple servers

#3 the licenses is beyond fair.

#4 the support guys are always there, and while it may take 2 requests for some advanced questions.. they answer.. and there are no support fee's.

I'm not a techie and for the first time I'm using C-Panel and I think its the best. I've used Ensim and some home made control panel an old host created. C-Panel is by the far the best. Almost complete control. Nice GUI interface just very easy to use. I don't have to contact my host with stupid questions because it's all point and click. I'll never use another control panel other then C-Panel. Well never say never but you get my point! :D

Cpanel for sure till i get ensim installed on my dummie server and start playing around with i dislike it. I have tried to install it like 20 times still no luck. Cpanel took a few mins.

I never play favorites with control panels, I let my customers chose. They prefer cPanel now so I do to - but they like another one next, I like that to :)

That's WebSiteOS, the control panel used by Hostopia resellers.

I used to use it. I liked it, but I like CPanel best. It's feature rich but relatively simple to use.

Plesk confused the h*ll out of me. I don't like it.

EXACTLY. That's the single reason I chose a cpanel liscense. I did some comparative shopping so to speak, and while I liked plesk overall myself because it just kinda got out of the way/was unobtrusive, I chose cpanel. Why?

Feature-itis on the part of the clients. It's just neat for them to be able to have all of the bells and whistles, so to speak.

right im gonna start an ensim site full of tutorials - just to prove how easy it is to make ensim great! :)

I prefer modding something to make it perfect for our needs (ensim) than i do buying an "ok" solution (cpanel) out of the boc.

Matt, how easy is ensim? i've heard it can only support one database per user unles the admin assigns them more? :eek:
