View Full Version : Stay away from Revecom!!!!
Esr Tek 01-09-2003, 07:34 PM Thier system is extremly unreliable and thier support is flat out rude!!!!!
I have had an issue acctivating accont and due to thier system timing out during transaction, I cannot get account open.
However they conviently put my funds in reserve and off available balance.
My bank has sent proof that the transaction did get a auth code, however revecoms system timed out before receiving it.
Now revecom has to call up to get auth code and manually activate account or call and terminate transaction so i can have funds back to try again. (which I refuse to try a third time)
They absolutely won't budge about calling my bank and doing anything to help me. Nor will they let me speak to any kinda managment about this issue. (been waiting on a call back from one since 9am today)
3 tickets have gone unanswered!! (just made 4th)
I have gone thru this twice now w/ exact same issue and results from their support!!
They have now cost me 7+ days downtime (plus now have another 5 coming) and 6 orders.
Can anyone tell me a phone number to get a hold of a manager of some form. Or know where i may go to file a formal complaint against them?
Do I have any legal ground on this issue?

serveit 01-09-2003, 07:41 PM Why waste your time. Go get a new payment system from another provider and chargeback your setup fees with them.
You have an easy case to get your setup fee back as they did not adhere to any sort of performance on their end.
You can sue anybody you want, but the time you will put into it and the fees it will cost you are not going to be worth your trouble.
If they are providing you a poor quality of service getting signed up, imagine what they will do when you are down the road.
Best bet it is to take it as a learning experience and move on.
sbhmike 01-09-2003, 08:57 PM am i just unlucky i move from one payment processor to paysytems because they have good things said about them, as soon as i sign up it all goes downhill
I just moved 20% of my clients over to paysytems and i am moving them one by one as their payment date is reached , what do i tell them now , sorry we are going to have to move again ?
Btw i had the same problem with signing up ,however it worked the third time , they tried to tell me that sometimes their sytsem is slow when using dialup accounts , i was using adsl and still get the timeouts
Esr Tek 01-09-2003, 09:24 PM I don't trust tryin it a third time.
I would be more willing if thier staff wheren't complete rude ass's to me or their management had acctually called me back as promised.
Now again their system fails...
I hope to god they lose a ton of customers!!!
With their crappy system and piss poor support they deserve it...
Account Cancelation sent!!!!
Join in the revolt agaisnt poor service!!!!
Benjamin 01-09-2003, 11:08 PM easily: Maybe you could change payment processors, but just use the new processor with your new customers (customers that signup later on). Then just keep paysystems with your customers you already have until their next payment is due or enough time has passed that they won't complain about re-entering their info again.
Worthen 01-12-2003, 12:46 AM Esr Tek,
Hope you found a good solution to your payment processor. Seems like payment processing is the achilles heel of ecommerce.
I have 2Checkout set up on three seperate websites and rarely have any trouble at all. Sometimes process as many as 6 transactions per day at one site.
I've been with them about 9 months after leaving PayPal where I still can't believe how much trouble I had and how hard I worked to resolve it. (unsuccessfully)
I never have had any trouble with 2Checkout that I could actually trace to them for sure.
Just this past week I had 2 people claim to be unable to get the payment page to work. I usually get this complaint about once every 2 or 3 months. Of course under perfect conditions people will make mistakes.
Good luck Friend
Esr Tek 01-12-2003, 12:49 AM Thanks man..
I was planning on signing up w 2co ;)
But had to wait since revecom has screwed my available credit for another 5 days!!!
I am also lookin into modernauthorize but I just found them and don't have much to go on about their rep.

I am not sure what state/country they are in, but in the us. it is illegal for them to refuse to let you speak to a manager/supervisor.
rusko 01-12-2003, 01:18 AM esr tek,
any reason why the uptime stats for one of your servers listed on your support forum here:
http://forums.tekadvantage.com/viewtopic.php?t=106
are the same as the stats for a server at httpme, as listed here:
http://www.httpme.com/showthread.php?threadid=3228
dont want to jump to conclusions, but did you rip bob's forum?
Esr Tek 01-12-2003, 01:50 AM Nope I'm a proud Httpme reseller ;)
And ya I did just rip it w/ his approval;)
rusko 01-12-2003, 02:08 AM aha, good thing i didnt call him and wake him up in the middle of the night to tell him what he already knows =]

Note that most of the complaints have been censored, but still there are mostly unhappy customers. Nothing new - the ususal money missing from accounts, payment forms not working (lost sales), rude tech support, censorship, Wadsworthless, "oh, its been resolved (again!) BS. And of course "we're gonna sue you" but they never do, "I'm leaving" but they never do...hehe...quite a soap opera over there.
Esr Tek 01-12-2003, 01:10 PM Carter -
Thanks I'm well aware of thier issues.
However in my current postion it may be only viable option just to open the doors and stop paying to host a useless site ;)
Seeing as Revecom is pathetic, Hostcharge is not only closed to new customers but also seems in iment danger of going under...
That leaves me w 1 3rd party type choice.
I've actually applied for a modernauthorize account but I'm not sure what will happen there!
Any other suggestions of an easy to get merchant account would be great. One without needing Business Checking or credit check be great!!
rusko 01-12-2003, 06:53 PM you need to be a legal person (an official business) in order to obtain a merchant account - get a DBA, incorporate etc.
Esr Tek 01-12-2003, 07:20 PM hehehe I like the way you put that.. ;)
I have my DBA good for 2ys I just haven't gotten to incorp yet and wasn't going till until I moved after summer to new state.
sbhmike 01-12-2003, 07:46 PM paystems control panel down again !
Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80004005'
[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Cannot open user default database. Using master database instead.
?
Edit back up now
soccernmore 01-12-2003, 08:00 PM Esr Tek - Not quite sure how Revecom is pathetic. I've gotten excellent service, all my questions answered and paid exactly when supposed too. Right now theier server is being upgraded and I am anxious to see if it improves their uptime as this would be my only knock as of now.
CarterStC - I was a 2Checkout supporter but no more. I am also one of the people who said I will be leaving, and in about 10 days, we will have our new site online and will no longer use 2CO. I find their attitude piss poor, their service non-existent and they have went downhill like a rock. The fact that they censor their forum should tell you alot. I asked a question 5 times (why was payment sent later than usual) and each time the post was deleted. Finally I was told to submit a support ticket. This matter could have easily been handled with a quick and direct answer....I really wish there were something I could do about the way they run the company but other than contact the BBB, there is not much I can do.
As we are in Thailand there are some procedures that we have to go thru before we can get a merchant account but in the future, this will happen. For now, I will stick with Paysystems.

I'd like to know where you got this information from. I've never heard this and I seriously doubt that the US government as gone so far as to tell companies who they must let people talk to.....

then you should have no trouble obtaining a merchant account. a dba is good enough and having it for 2 years makes it that much more credible in the eyes of the issuing bank.
Esr Tek 01-13-2003, 08:00 AM Rusko - great info, I was under impression in order to get a full merchant account I would need to be more established and proven succesful.
Like I said before I'm waitin to hear from modernauthorize.com for app i put in and hopefully I will have no issues. Then get MB to go along w/ it for integration into site ;)
