View Full Version : Lost Domain Name

I doubt theres anything I can do about this but I'll ask anyway.

Due to my PC being down and unusable for a short period I missed the final renewal warning for a domain by a couple of days and it dropped. Only to turn up in the posession of a domain reseller who you must request a quote from but quotes $688 minimum price to sell it.

I'm really annoyed about this as I've had it for years and losing it seriously messes up my email contacts. There are no business name interests or trademark issues etc.

It was a .net, anyone got any ideas?

The company in question is buydomains.com

I know this doesn't help NOW but, maybe for the future, use the "auto-renew" feature that many registrars offer (eg Godaddy etc).
Hope you can sort something out.

have you requested a price quote from them yet?

Didnt bother with a price quote $688 dollars minimum is far too much for me and feels like blackmail anyway, I'm on a tight budget right now and can barely afford the normal price of a replacement domain!

I know it dropped but it seemed to go straight into the hands of this company before it even became publicly available.

They probably had put a 'snap' on the name. The domain became available and was snapped within minutes. That's common.

Thats just too bad :(

I guess I'll just have to wear it.

I'm just irked because this was my first ever domain name I registered and used to put up my first ever proper website.

It was sentimental if you see what I mean, plus it has messed up an important email my girlfriend used for her craft.

Regards.

buydomains.com is another big buyer after Ultsearch. You're out of luck, pal.
