Hello everyone,

I'm wondering about processors. In an inexpensive dedicated is a Duron or a PIII better of the same speed? Where do the PIII Celerons fit?

Also, for higher performance needs, is it better to have a AMD XP or a P4 of the same speed, and once again, where do the P4 celerons fit in this one?

Thanks for your input!!

As always, the correct answer is "it depends."

It depends on the purpose of the server, the application(s) running on the server, the budget, the cooling capability, the longevity needs, etc.
I'm sure many will share their personal preferences with you, but you need to separate these from the facts and decide for yourself based on your own criteria.
