Can you help?

My cousin is having problems with his ISP that has gone bust. They are refusing to release his domain name so that he can set up else where.

Is he at risk of losing his domain name ?

'Just to let all you folks know that while I'm trying to wrestle arkmast.com back from my old host (who went bankrupt taking my domain with them), I now live at http://www.arkmast.co.uk/.

You can still use my old @arkmast.com email addresses, but I might move over to @arkmast.co.uk if I don't get my domain back soon. If I do change, I'll let you folks know.'

How can it be reclaimed ?

If you can help in this matter please post a reply to this thread.

Your cousin's domain registration at least shows him as the registrant (I'm assuming he is Mark). Tell him to go to NSI's site and follow their instructions for faxing information and proof of identity to them to change the admin contact. Once that is done, he can make any other requisite changes.

I would suggest tranferring immediately to 000domains.com/OpenSRS (once the admin contact or e-mail address is replaced) . He will be able to make those changes in moments. The first, step, however, is for your cousin to regain control of his domain name. Tell him to waste no time in doing so. It is safe for the moment, though that could change at any time very easily.

FWIW, you might do better to go somewhere other than NSI. NSI is notoriously slow at dealing with these things, and I believe that other registrars can take over the domain and make the necessary changes if you provide them with the documentation.

To transfer to another registrat, his cousin would need to respond affirmatively to a notice sent to the admin contact. That means dealing with NSI to get the contact changed and then moving it, not the other way around.
