We are interested in tracking the number of times a visitor to our site clicks on a specific email link from one of our pages. Are there any statistic package that would allow me to show client x the numbers of time his email link has been followed from his page on our site?

A friend of mine suggested instead of the site statistics, maybe a Java applet that sends me an email as well would be the way to go. Any thoughts on this?
