I've got an alpha server 1000 and I want to use it to connect my network to the internet (usimg a cable modem). I've already set up a DHCP server. Now I need a proxy server to connect the network to the internet. How can this be done under win NT 4.0 Service Pack 6.0.
I cannot use most of the programs which do this (like winproxy ed) because it's running on an alpha processor (so not X86).
Does anybody know an alpha program or a way to do this in windows NT????
Thanx

Hi..
I hate to say this but a BIG suggestion... a lot of posts around here COULD be answered if people made better use of search engines's like Google (www.google.com) ..
As per a proxy for Dec/Alpha systems... have a look at:
http://www.alphalinux.org/archives/debian-alpha/March1999/0153.html
For Linux solutions/proxy solutions on Debian or IF YOU MUST run a Windows NT4 Server...
Have a look at http://www.microsoft.com/ntserver/nts/exec/vendors/freeshare/Special.asp for information on Proxy Vendors for Non-Intel based NT Servers.
I'm prob. wrong but I could SWEAR there is a Alpha distro-release of Proxy 2.0.

If you'd look better you would see at all says: Intell compatible CPU and win 2000.
There is no win 2000 release for the alpha CPU and there is no ISA server edition for the alpha.
All proxy 2.0 sites on microsoft.com are gone or contain links to the download of ISA. Everything is Intell and win2000. Great those guys.

You've not made yourself clear AT ALL...
You're not after ISA Server - you said Proxy 2.0 for NT4.
Grr... I give up. I give up...

Oke what I need is:
Some proxy server which runs under Windows NT4 and on a Alpha processor. This is not an intel x86 compatible processor so it needs it's own program's.
It seems that microsoft has replaced all proxy 2.0 websites for ISA server websites and does not have any alpha programm's at all anymore.
Does anyone know a good one??
Thanx a lot for trying.
